Tom Laaser is

a military veteran, having served with the 10th Mountain Division as a Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember. Cross trained as a linguist, he was deployed to Khost, Afghanistan 2013-2014. Injured in combat, he was medically retired and turned to writing. His writing focuses on post-war life and making sense of the world. He is founder of the Salem Veterans Writing Workshop and Co-Founder of the Salem Veterans Playwriting Competition. His work has appeared in As You Were, a military literary journal, Hero’s Voices Poetry, Medic in the Green Time Anthology, and the Oxford Brookes Veteran Poetry Anthology. He lives in Maine with his wife and children.
